Our Story
Louis started Chez Louis woodfire pizza in 2009, which translates to 'Louis's Place' in French. He started in the iconic big black bus, moved to the famous Ōhope shop, and is now mobile again in the uniquely wood cladded trailer. Louis was drawn to NZ to play rugby, he fell in love with Aoteroa and decided to stay, but the southern Frenchmen and wood joiner by trade had the dream of making woodfire pizza... the rest is history. Fast forward to 2024 and he was joined by Mark, a fellow rugby player and foodie the two bonded quickly, with his Mediterranean background he is helping to add even more flair to our French style woodfire pizza!
